Created Issue: PLEASE UPDATE THIS TO CWS 3.0 [11464]

Took me 5 installs and a lot of screwing around to get the right version here.
Please take down/destroy the older versions of the creative web starter as they do more damage than help.

version 3.0 is set up well, but only works with Umbraco 4.7 - now 4 versions behind the "recent" download.

I am working with the razor rewrite and want to add strings for phone number and ip address. I cannot find the filePath.LogContactForm(strName, strPhone, strAddressLine1, strAddressLine2, strEmailFrom, strMessage);

Where is this? I get this error.

The link for the prev pictures in photo pages have a error.

This link is going to the first image in the gallery and not the prev one...

Hello Christian, thankyou for the fix I will push this out in the next minor release.
The recent release of CWS was rushed to meet the 4.5 release with the new schema so it did not get a chance to get heavily tested.

I have been trying to create multiple site with the CWS 2.0.3 installed on my clean umbraco 4.5.1. When I created new site with only one text node beneath home node, I could see all navigation items which are present in default site created while and installing CWS as well as the text node I created. Tracing the xml passed to Navi.xslt I figured <xsl:variable name="rootNode" select="$currentPage/ancestor-or-self::root" /> returns all CWS_Home nodes. I tweaked xslt a bit made following modification and it worked correctly. Let me know if it is correct or not.

Hello Raxit.
You are correct with your new XPath statement. When i first built CWS along time ago I never really thought people would have multiple sites in an install and I was still currently learning Umbraco, XSLT, XPath myself and has only been quickly updated/tweaked to run with the new XML schema.

I hope to find some time to sit down and go through CWS and make these kind of minor tweaks.

Is it possible to give users the option to either choose the name and directory that the log files are stored, or if not have them moved to a more secure directory.

At present anyone with a site based on CWS can go to www.mysite.com/data/contact_form.xml or www.mysite.com/data/email_a_friend_form.xml and view the data that has been collected for that site, which contains private email address details etc.

Hope that makes sense and if i can be of any help let me know

Also been looking at this recently as well, and was thinking could an "if" statement be added so that if the logs are of 5 days for example old they are deleted and the process starts again, sort of an automated clean up

Hiya,
Would changing the file extension to .config files be ok of a solution, as I *think* IIS does not serve up *.config files. Do you know if this is right?
If so that would be the easiest way to solve this :)

What folders/paths are secure that they can be moved to?

I have been thinking the same. Right now the code has to be manually edited to point to a different more secure location and also make sure the appropriate service users have required access to that location.

I downloaded the latest Umbraco version (4.5.1 and .NET 4.0) and installed it on my server. Right after the umbraco installation, I tried installing CWS thru the admin interface (Developer -> Packages -> Umbraco package repository -> Starter kits - > CWS) but got this error:

Hello Musiklaber,
Sorry for the delay but I have been on my summer holiday for a couple of weeks.

Before I debug this problem, I need to verify a few things as this is a fairly common issue with my package, if the package has been installed before:
* Was the Umbraco site a clean install (fresh out of the box)?
* Did you try to install CWS previously on the same site, which failed before?
* If the umbraco site was a clean install, was the database also?

I know this sounds a pain, but please could you verify this issue for me, by doing the following:
* Deleteing the Database
* Create a new blank/empty database for Umbraco to use
* Remove all files in folder that IIS is pointed to
* Reinstall Umbraco 4.5.1
* Install CWS again from the Package repositiory please

Then please come back and report your findings.

I did a clean install of Umbraco CMS 4.0.2 (latest) and then install the Creative Website Starter (CWS) 2.0.2 onto it. It seem to be working fine and then suddenly the next day I get the following error message. Can some please help me? I don't know what to do... I didn't change any settings, nor did i fiddle around with the files in the server.... What happened?

I think the name of Node Type Alias is incorret: 'EventItem'

The corret is: 'CWS_EventItem',

Example of error:
